Robotics, mechatronics and automation sit where mechanical design, electronics, control theory and computing meet: systems that sense their surroundings, decide, and act. Coursework runs through kinematics and dynamics, sensors and actuators, embedded systems, control, machine vision, industrial automation (PLC/SCADA) and robot programming, on top of a mechanical or electronics core. Most Indian degrees are B.Tech specialisations; the deeper route is a postgraduate robotics programme at an IIT or a mechatronics M.E.
